About

Mission Statement
Our mission at Sacramento Cat Rescue Examiner is to increase public awareness of issues, both positive and negative, impacting cats and other animals in Sacramento and surrounding areas. Our intention is to do so in a manner that also increases public compassion and motivates readers to take action on behalf of animals.

Vision Statement
Our stories currently run at a ratio of about 1:4 successes vs. calls to action. We envision a future in which our continued accurate reporting of Sacramento events will indicate many more successes than calls to action – so many more that the ratio will be radically reversed from 1:4 to 20:1.

We, like our readers, are shocked by scenes of misery and humbled by the compassionate and responsible work done by the rescue groups and individuals of Sacramento and surrounding areas. In the Sacramento we envision, cats and all other animals will be treated with the respect and compassion they deserve by all citizens. In the Sacramento that we are working towards then rescue groups may no longer be needed, because all Sacramento citizens will equally and compassionately share responsibility for the welfare of the animals with whom we share this earth. We will all rescue, and less rescue situations will be caused. Mahatma Gandhi once said “the greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” The stories featured on Sacramento Cat Rescue Examiner will demonstrate the belief of our staff that not only is Sacramento is a great place now, but more importantly that Sacramento will achieve further greatness in future due to the increased action of its compassionate citizens.

Sacramento Cat Rescue Examiner is strongly committed to journalistic integrity and to high ethical standards.

Sacramento Cat Rescue Examiner believes in open dialogue and welcomes constructive comments and questions from readers.
